Why a tool

What the chat window cannot finish.

Two jobs in one place: the arithmetic of holding a ratio while one dimension changes, and the reference table of what each platform actually accepts this year. The second is the part that goes stale everywhere else.

The arithmetic is trivial and an assistant will get it right. The specs are the problem: platform dimensions change, and a model answers from a training snapshot with no indication of how old it is. Ours carries a date.

The calculator also holds the ratio live as you type, which is a different activity from asking a question — you are exploring, not querying.

Questions
What size should an Open Graph image be?

1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio, kept under 8MB. Keep anything essential inside the middle 80% — different platforms crop the edges differently.

How do I convert 16:9 to 9:16 without ruining the composition?

You cannot crop your way there from a wide master and keep the framing. Shoot or compose for the vertical separately, or rebuild the frame with the subject re-staged — reframing is a design decision, not a transform.

What is the safe area on Reels and Stories?

Keep essential content roughly 250px from the top and 350px from the bottom of a 1080 × 1920 frame — platform UI overlays those regions and the exact amount changes.
